Welcome to the Creative Empowerment Cooperative website. CEC is in its beginning stages of development, and the content of this website is evolving as quickly as our organization. We invite you to accompany the creative process of CEC’s journey here, from conception, resource gathering, site determination, and partnership building, to realization.
The Mission of the Creative Empowerment Cooperative is: To honor and encourage those committed to social justice, to harness the synergy of creativity and activism, and to responsibly support community-driven development.
CEC will:
- Provide a residency sabbatical experience for social justice luminaries with opportunities for rest, revitalization, and innovation
- Build human capacity by hiring locally and providing staff with ongoing needs assessment, and personal and career development support
- Help local residents acquire the expertise and physical capital necessary to achieve their community priorities.
CEC guests, wellness personnel, and local staff will work cooperatively, and will collaborate regularly with residents on local projects.
